There are many popular names. But I am not sure I can guarantee they are safe. Some of them were reported as hackable or have serious exploits. Then there is CyberPanel, CentOS Web Panel.
I haven't heard anything bad about them. Do you think they are free cPanel alternatives that we can use ?
Webmin and Virtualmin was always there. I first saw them 5 years ago. And still going strong.
There is Ajenti, ISPConfig, VestaCP, something from Softaculous and so on.

Does DirectAdmin trial can be counted as free cPanel alternative?
Jason the word "trial" in that sentence would indicate it's not free ?

aaPanel, I have not seen this one before. But their website portrays it as a strong contender for cPanel's crown. A lot of features, ready to install modules and WordPress. Docker, Python, FTP and a security plugin.
I saw about aaPanel. It was told that they are a Chinese panel and aaPanel is the English version. I cannot confirm this new though.
admin yes, I thought the same.
