How comfortable are you with using Github ? At first, I really had no idea how it works. It was really hard to figure out the concept and how it works.

I use one of those Github clients. Makes life easy. But make sure that you use a trusted one or you will end up compromising your sign in credentials.

Github themselves offer a desktop client for Windows. Not sure whether there is one for Mac, but none for Linux so far.

admin yes, under Linux you are restricted to gitclone etc from the command line. Took ages for a decent SVN client whilst Windows (for once) was miles ahead.
