Hello friends, my current forum is powered by MyBB now (with a custom theme) i am planning to switch to a paid forum software. Why the change? Due to reliability, a complete package instead of addons to be installed for basic operations.
What forum software you suggest, i thought of Woltlab Suite as it is cheap and have prior experience with it. But in terms of long run what will be ideal.?
Invision Power Board ? It is feature-rich compared to other options. They are supporting mobile apps too.
Thanks for the suggestion Abhi, i will try the demo of their suite and see how it goes.
They have a market place app too. I think you asked about it somewhere in another question.
Have you considered moving to phpBB ? Flarum, Vanilla has responsive templates too. If you are ready to spend money on a VPS, Discourse would be a good choice.
admin You are suggesting these due to inbuilt responsive theme, like, notifications etc?
Responsive theme - yes
Free - yes
Like / Reactions - yes
Just want to update, i have moved my forum from MyBB to Woltlab. Got a good deal on the license so took it.
Are you happy ?
Jason Got a good deal on the license so took it.
I think you got the deal you wanted so badly. How did you pay the seller ?
Abhi Yes i am happy and glad i make the switch
admin Yes got a good deal. I was able to pay the seller using PayPal. I just used a different bank card and it accepted it
Jason I was able to pay the seller using PayPal.
Wish granted then ? 😉
What is the best thing about your new software ?
It is completely responsive, has like, notification, inbuilt ad manager, SEO link, experimental view for guest etc..
Jason experimental view for guest
I am not sure what this means.
Abhi This view helps the guest to view the site little more faster by cutting down few features i think.
That is brilliant. Is it like the reader mode in Firefox ? A light version of the web page ?
Abhi yes a very light version. But I don’t find a difference
Jason But I don’t find a difference
Such pages are meant for mobiles with slow internet connection. Your page might rank high for that reason.
Abhi meant for mobiles with slow internet connection
I agree. Lite pages can help a lot in SEO. Google's own version is AMP.
