How many of you use Linux ? Are you happy with it or use it because you got no other choice ?
I have used it through Live CD. I prefer Windows at work though. A lot of office machines use Windows.
I am currently looking for Windows like desktops. KDE looks nice. But the whole idea of Windows on Linux is a bit strange.
I tried to get peace with Gnome, but it too alien for me. Once I get used to it, the whole UX will change.
Linux Mint is the best thing you can have when moving from Windows. Not just for the UI, it has all those drivers and GPU support that Ubuntu offers.
I am using Linux - Solus OS. I am very happy with it, weekly updates and no breakage in anything. I recommend it to all to try it.
What is Solus OS ? Never heard of it. It got all drivers for your PC ?
Abhi Yes it got all the drivers i need. It uses Budgie as DE and it is super cool. Try the live version if you want.
I have tried Budgie. It is good. But the time I tried was bad. The whole experience gone wrong at that time.
Jason knows a lot about distros
I would probably. Budgie, I looked at some screenshots. Not bad 🙂
I am reading a lot about various distros. Not sure which to try. Most of them vanish suddenly or maintainers disappear.
Abhi This is good and many are contributing towards its development. Every Friday they provide users with update. Till now no issues or slow down. I am really happy with its performance. They have Plasma too, if you like you can check that.
Sounds good. I will try it once I have a chance to do it. Anything interesting about Solus that others do not have ?
Abhi Sorry i haven't used many distros so can't say what is interesting about this. One thing is for sure, boot time is super fast. Regular updates with no bleeding issues.

This one, right ?
Jason Regular updates with no bleeding issues.
That is what matters. How long do they support a version ?
admin It is not like a version, the development keeps going and you need to do an upgrade from one version to other. It was Solus 3 and Solus 4 is the version. Updating switches you to new one.
Abhi He he he, can't afford Mac so settled with Linux.
You sounded like a Mac guy to me @Jason
I am amazed that you are a Linux fan.
A lot of tech savy people use Linux these days. It is like smart people's operating system. A lot of people think so. But to be honest, Linux and its DEs have become very user friendly. It is almost the same as using Windows or Mac.
I hear a lot about this
https://mxlinux.org/
They say it is light weight and usual promo talk. There is a chance that I do not know and it is really good.
Jason It was Solus 3 and Solus 4 is the version. Updating switches you to new one.
Does it have an app store ? Apps do get updated with new versions ? How long can we use without upgrading ? Like using Windows 7.
Which one are you on now ? Solus 4 ?
Jason can't afford Mac so
Lier 🤣
Abhi It has an app store and it has all the need software for me. You can use it as long as you like. They don't have an end cycle.
admin He he he he, really i can't afford Mac.
