What are the basic things needed to set up a Web Hosting site? I know we need a Hosting Panel, Domain and Dedicated Server. Anything else?
Web hosting website or service ?
Web Hosting site and providing service through it. Let says abcd.com is my hosting website and i provide shared, reseller etc.
Are you sure about a Dedicated server ? It is costly during the initial days for startups.
You are correct about web hosting panel as most users ask for it. I think you will need WHMCS too. There are billing software like Blesta and so on.
As for the website, you can use a CMS or hard code it.
Abhi I am not going to do anything. Just want to know what are the things really needed to get started.
As a provider, you'd need DDoS mitigation techniques, mechanisms for containerisation, backup capabilities, snapshots, security fundamentals and basics, letsencrypt support etc to name just a few of the simple ones.
It's really not as simple as just standing up a server for others to use.
phenomlab mechanisms for containerisation
VirtualBox will do ?
phenomlab backup capabilities, snapshots,
Do we use a different server for that ? Or store locally ?
Abhi VirtualBox will do ?
Nowhere near good enough. You will want to use something like Cloud Linux which is typically backed by large visualisation vendors such as XEN and VMWare
Abhi Do we use a different server for that ? Or store locally ?
You should never store your backups or snapshots on the same infrastructure as your production network for obvious reasons such as disk or total node failure. It should be housed outside of the production endowment so that in the event if a disaster, that data is readily available to be recovered.
phenomlab This ?

Abhi yes. That's the standard these days.
Immunify is an anti malware ?
Is the above link genuine ?
Abhi yes. It's genuine. A good product as well, but not essential depending on your setup. I currently have an active license via plesk which I many continue to use as the product can be installed in standalone too if I'm not mistaken.
It will be nice to hire a system admin from one of those support venues for initial support. And if serious continue the service. It is always good have an experienced hand around. While it is fun to refer those guides online and set things up, experience matters in the end.
