Optional themes

Do you provide theme options on your website ? Dark and Light has now become a standard, let us skip that. But what if a user lands on your website, dislike how it looks like and move on. Then he/she notices an option to change the theme. Sounds very interesting to me. Don't you think that is a good way for customer retension ?

Abhi allowing a user to specify a theme when on your website would require them to be logged in an a session cookie placed on their pc. If the user declined the cookie it won't work.

A better approach is to use Stylish (

I have seen some websites do the other way @phenomlab . I went to a hosting website. And there they have an " Selector " at the top where they allow you to choose different themes. I have seen it a couple of times here and there in some big corporate websites as well. I think one of the was Dell US.

admin yes, and they'll also store a session cookie on your PC.

There is a certain theme for Xenforo. It allows you to switch themes without login. I have seen such behaviour with certain MyBB forums as well.

Abhi is still a session cookie. It can't work any other way if it is to remain persistent when you visit next as a guest.

As of now i don't offer an optional theme but when i used MyBB i had a light and dark theme.

Abhi No it doesn't require login. In the footer we will get an option to switch theme in MyBB.
