Do you see post exchange as a viable method to increase activity and traffic ? Did it cause you any trouble ?

I haven't done it much. Mainly because I don't like posting for the sake of posting. But if a forum has enough interesting discussions to participate, trading is fine.

As an arrangement, post exchange has been very successfully followed by webmaster. More posts, traffic, content. Why skip them all when you get them for free ?

I used to do it a bit for my tech forum related to gadgets. It was fine. Exchange was mostly with general forums. They know about tech, to some extent and I could talk about small things under the sky. It was a win win for that project.

I used this method to gain some posts but most of the time it gives a bad impression if it is only one time exchange. You will see cool posts for first 5 or 10 and then gone. If it is a continuous post exchange it is okay else not good.

Try to give them reason to come back. That is the hard truth. People who looks for formal exchanges, just want you to do it. They do not care about what they put on your website.

True, if i give theme a good reason to come back even after the exchange ends they will come back.

It is different for each person. You will lose a lot of people but will win a few who you know how to deal with. That is best for the community as well.

Do post exchange with as many people as you can. That way, there is a chance that some of them will stick around.

admin I can do that, by my forum is a religious one. Post exchange won't work for me as of now. I need to find some blogs to do some comment exchange.

That is the thing about forums. Out of 100 only 5-6 people stay. That is also considered perfectly normal, even by successful forum communities.

Try YouTube channels than blogs. You will find a lot of them.
