Domain name suggestion

Greetings everyone, i need some help on choosing a domain name. Few know about my forum and i love to get some opinion on the name.

Currently my domain name is using .com, and the name of the domain is like admintechz.com but admintech.org is available. Do you think going to admintech.org gives me an upper hand due to the clean name and in SEO perspective does is it help. admintech.com is not available and they ask $1000 for it. (Note: admintech is just an example, admin i am in no way going to buy that 😁 ).

Jason .org will make your domain look like it is a not for profit, so if you intend to monetize it later this is a mistake. As for the SEO, a 301 redirect is SEO friendly so no issues there.

How old is your forum ? If Google got familiar with the old domain, don't change that.

.com is the best option in my opinion. We use others because all .com are taken.

Abhi Forum is 1 month old and i have 110 posts and 10 members. No traffic as of now and only i am active.

There's no harm in doing so provided it's setup properly. Typically an SEO friendly 301 redirect, then a transfer of the domains within Google analytics of that's your thing.

You can also try .net . It is quite popular and used by big names as well.

Abhi I love .org and .com domain extensions and i haven't tried .net let me think about it.

My forum is 4 months old, very poor traffic, backlinks and activity. Do you think a new domain name and a fresh advertisement start can help me. Plus i love to hear your thoughts on the domain name ex: theadminforum.com instead of adminforumz.com. Sorry i couldn't edit my previous post

Jason you should also play with synonyms. For example, another word for forum is symposium. You'd be surprised at how powerful this can be. It's the exact methodology I took when I created phenomlab.com.

If it has no record, there is nothing for you to lose. Go ahead with a domain change if you prefer so.

That is in fact a brilliant suggestion. Finding a good .com domain name is otherwise close to impossible these days.

I finally a bought a .org domain with a clean name. As my forum is based on religion i thought of going with .org

There is no authority who will check whether you use .org correctly. At least not yet. But for such niche, .org looks great.
