Signature links were always one good source for anonymous visitors. People will contribute just to leave their link. ie, they find your link in some forum, click on it, registers, make some posts enough to add a siggy link.

Social media. That is the best visitor source now. If you can manage to get into some group or friends with a global scope, that is very effective.
