Considering Google is promoting PWA and even giving weightage for PWA, do you think it is a better option than a mobile app ?
As of now, I think PWA is more productive and SEO friendly. It takes much less investment for a PWA than a mobile app.
There software like Discourse and WordPress which offer PWA officially. In short, with these software you do not even need to invest anything.

In that case, a lot of people will be going for Progressive Web App ( PWA )
admin with these software you do not even need to invest anything.
I think that is a good move. SEO-wise and support-wise.
admin The real difference here is that PWA is a web based app - for example, it won't work offline in the same way that an app would. Much less investment, but probably less traction because of the inability to work offline in most cases.
I am not sure, but I have heard the term cache associated with PWA somewhere. ie, it has the ability to give certain content offline. I don't claim to be 100 % correct.
Abhi Yes, but caching will cause issues - as it does with Flarum and PWA
I see. I am not sure that is a server level cache as we normally refer it.
Abhi it is server cache related
I found this
It works offline when there is no internet connection, leveraging data cached during your last interactions with the app
Abhi true, but unless the application has contact with the server at some point, there are a variety of things that won't work correctly.
